This is a great introduction to canyoneering and leaves plenty of time for other same day Zion activities. Trips involve rappelling, hiking, and scrambling through canyon routes.  Difficulty level can be customized to your families abilities. No experience is necessary.

Starting Time & Locations

Approx. 7:30AM or 2PM.
Final time confirmed at time of reservation. Winter flexible 8AM to 12PM.

Activity Area

This trip offers multiple canyon options. Request a specific canyon or decide with your guide on the day of your trip.

Westside canyons include Lambs Knoll, Yankee Doodle, Solar Canyon, Bitter Creek, and Cottonwood Creek.

Eastside canyon include Unnamed Canyon, Lower Red Cave, Dianes Canyon (aka Huntress), and White Lamanite.

What to bring

  • 1-2 liters of water per person
  • Seasonally appropriate hiking attire.
  • Hiking or approach shoes work best. Running shoes/sneakers will work.

Trip Details

We have extensive experience guiding family trips, from first-time beginners to high-performance families and everything in between Our guides will help you get the most out of your trip.

Meet your guide at the designated starting location and select the canyon route. Drive 15–30 minutes to the trailhead, gear up, and hike into the canyon. Rappelling instruction is provided at the first rappel, with ongoing guidance through additional rappels, scrambling, and down-climbing. Exit the canyon, return to the trailhead and transport back to the original starting location.
